The headline news told me about the effort of the famrmer to
demands the settle of land conflict around North Sumatra, Lampung, West and
East Java. They asked for the fair solution about the dividend of the land
between the state’s and private’s authority. More than 2.000 farmers would held
a large scale march to remain the goverment about the land problem. The council
of the goverment said that this demonstrate of land conflict increased clearly
from the previous year. The presence of the police also aggravated the
situation as noted that the violence of the police, intimidation, and shooting
them to accomplish the march. Goverment also said that the arrested of the
farmers was the worst in around last 14 years.
In my opinion, it should be did by the farmers to fight for
their rights about the land conflict. They have to snatch it as the owner of
those. They sowed the seed, took care of it and grew them surely to reap the
product they would given their family to. It was obviously not appropriate when
they have did everything to keep their source of life alive and the other unresponsibilited
relevant just seized it from their hand. The farmers needed a stritch law to
limit the land share between them and the state’s. A stricth law was not really
enough to support, the awareness of the goverment also needed to appreciate
their effort so far. When they held an massive parade asking their rights,
goverment should realized their wants and promote what they have to own. But,
in order to ask for their right, they also have to be orderly and obey the
rules acted throughout the march. Meanwhile, the help of the police to guide
the march going well should exclude any violences to avoid the large scale of
noise and the worse part is when those march turns into the anarchy situation. The
police should let the demonstrant tell their wants freely, not limit their
freedom to express their oration. Hopefully, soon there won’t be any violence,
victims and unbeneficiaries side when the democration was acted.
